What expenses Involved when buying a house?
Typically, when opening escrow, there are escrow fees and an Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) involved. Additionally, other fees related to the loan can range from 3.5% up to 20% or more. It’s important to note that these fees can vary based on your specific situation and circumstances. Who pays the Buyers Agent commission?
Updated Commission Structure in California (per new NAR rules):
Under the new NAR rules, sellers are no longer required to offer commission to the buyer’s agent through the MLS (Multiple Listing Service). This means that the buyer’s agent’s commission is no longer automatically included in the listing price. As a result, buyers may be asked to negotiate directly with their agent regarding their compensation, and the buyer could be responsible for paying the agent’s commission, depending on the terms of their agreement.
